Members of the PRBA Board met with Rear Admiral Peter Brown to discuss key topics regarding Puerto Rico’s recuperation, as well as to build trust in its relationship with Puerto Rico as Federal Coordinator for the reconstruction of the island.

During a meeting that lasted almost an hour, diverse issues were stated, among these: the importance of the private sector in Puerto Rico’s recuperation; CDBG-DR funding; Opportunity Zones; legislation for the permit process; Section 408; current obstacles investors face; challenges presented by the income limits; and the need to train and certify the construction workforce.Admiral Brown agreed on the importance of many of these matters, and emphasized on his role as “a liaison and voice in the White House for Puerto Rico” and pointed out the great significance in continuity and long-term investment to achieve sustainability.
